Born into an artistic family, I was introduced to the Masters at a young age. This exposure has carried over into my careers, both as a fine artist and an illustrator for children's picture books.
As a fine artist, I draw from the works of John Singer Sargent, Diego Valesquez, and the Impressionists. My interest is in the fleeting effects of light and color. Using traditional methods in oil, I aim to capture beautiful moments in our modern world.
My paintings are all done on location, usually in one session. The process is more like performance art out in the elements, working quickly to capture the changing light and atmosphere. I want the viewer to feel the breezes, squint into the sun, and be transported.
