Rembs Layman was born on Nantucket, Massachusetts, and raised in and around the Boston area where he attended Massachusetts College of Art in the late eighties for graphic design and illustration. He later stepped away from the visual arts and entered the culinary world where he completed a two-year Associate Degree in Culinary Science program at Newbury College in the early nineties. After spending the next twenty years honing his skills as a Chef, Rembs again shifted his full-time focus to stay-at-home dad and now lives with his wife and two children in Shirley, Massachusetts. Rembs enjoys the freedom and tranquility that painting provides him while raising a family.
